Welcome to the Flotilla 11-4, District 8ER Web Site

Welcome to Flotilla 11-04; serving the boating public in the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area. The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed, all-volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard. The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary was established by Congress in 1939 to assist the Coast Guard in promoting boating safety. It boasts nearly 33,000 members from all walks of life who receive special training so that they may be a functional part of Team Coast Guard.

Collectively, Auxiliarists volunteer over 4.5 million hours per year and complete nearly 500,000 missions – a true force multiplier for the Coast Guard! Flotilla 11-04 is actively engaged in those missions, serving both the Coast Guard and the public here in Middle Tennessee. So, what is the Coast Guard doing this far inland? A lot! The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is an integral part of the mission; from coast to coast and all parts in between.

The Auxiliary members of Flotilla 11-04 conduct safety patrols on both the Cumberland River and our local lakes. We assist in Search and Rescue and teach boating safety classes. You'll find us conducting free vessel safety checks for the public at local marinas and boat ramps. Auxiliarists provide boating safety literature to marine dealers and other local partners in the recreational boating community.

These are just some of the things the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is doing around the country and right here in your own backyard in Middle Tennessee. While safety outreach to the recreational boating community is job #1 for the Auxiliary, we also support our shipmates in the active duty Coast Guard in many tasks, ranging from environmental protection to homeland security.

We are an organization of worthy missions and proud traditions. We are the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.

You can help the U.S. Coast Guard keep America's water ways safe and secure by participation in its America's Waterway Watch program, a nationwide initiative similar to the well know and successful Neighborhood Watch program that asks community members to report suspicious activities to local law enforcement agencies.
